DISCOVER MÉTIERS OF LEGAL
- Legal Management position holders are responsible of advising management on its duties and obligations at law and in its trading activities and seeks to answer any broader legal questions not answered by specialist subfunctions.
- Intellectual Property teams are in charge of advising on securing Intellectual Property (IP) rights and protections, prepares identifies solutions to minimise costs (e.g., costs of IP registration applications and renewals), negotiates and drafts licences and patent rights transfer agreements and identifies and orders the company’s existing IP rights.
- Contract Law teams are in charge of providing an effective legal framework for contracting parties to resolve their disputes and regulate their contractual obligations.
- Data Protection teams are in charge of keeping track on the different legal frameworks on how to obtain, use and store data of natural persons and ensures the company is acting in accordance with all the various laws around the world describing the rights of natural persons to control who is using their data and in what way. It ensures compliance with the ever changing data privacy laws.
- Anti-Counterfeit teams are in charge of identifying counterfeits and tracking down their source to take appropriate legal actions.
- Ethics & Compliance teams are in charge of ensuring that the company operates within the law and stays true to its own ethical principles that are important to the company’s business and identity. It checks the compliance of a company's operations against national and international laws and regulations that pertain to its particular industry, as well as professional standards, accepted business practices, and internal standards.
- Corporate Affairs teams are in charge of monitoring stakeholder opinions and expectations, the political landscape, specific policy issues, societal trends, competitor activity and reputation issues to ensure the company and its leaders are sensitised to all relevant external developments that could have an impact on the company.
- Real Estate Law teams are in charge of assisting the company in its acquisition, occupation, ongoing management and disposal of its trading premises and other real estate.
